Assessment

Gumnut Speech Pathology offers assessment and intervention for children aged 3-8 years of age experiencing communication difficulties including: speech sound delays/disorders, receptive (understanding) and expressive (talking) language difficulties, stuttering and literacy or early reading difficulties.

School aged Speech, Language and Literacy Assessment (1.5-3 hours)

• Comprehensive case history

• Formal assessment of receptive language (understanding) skills

• Formal assessment of expressive language (talking) skills

• Assessment of speech sounds

• Oral motor assessment

• Phonological awareness assessment

• Other literacy assessments as required

• Narrative assessments

Preschool Speech and Language Assessment (1.5 hours)

• Comprehensive case history

• Formal or informal assessment of receptive language (comprehension) skills

• Formal or informal assessment of expressive language (talking) skills

• Speech sound assessment

• Oral motor assessment

• Assessment of fluency as required

Therapy

Intervention sessions are offered as either 30 minute sessions or 45 minute sessions

Sessions are conducted within the clinic and parents are encouraged to attend and participate in sessions.

School visits will be considered if possible.
